About the Fulton Electric System

The Fulton Electric System (FES) was established on May 31, 1962 as a governmental agency under the "Little TVA Act" in KRS 96.550 to 96.900 (PDF). FES is operated by a General Manager and full time staff. It is overseen by a Board of Directors, which consists of five members appointed by the City Manager of Fulton, Kentucky.  The board meets every third Monday of the month.

FES’s objectives are simple, we are dedicated to providing an adequate and reliable supply of electricity for the comfort, convenience, and prosperity of the people and businesses of Fulton, Kentucky at the lowest practical cost. We are also dedicated to promoting growth, through educational programs on modern and proper electrical usage and participate in the general development of Fulton City.

FES’s service area falls within the city limits of Fulton, Kentucky and includes 70 miles of power lines and over 1,700 residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
